Sounds cool, but what exactly is it that you do?

We offer professional videography captured on film, specifically Super 8. We shoot entirely on Super 8, and then once we use the footage we captured during your wedding or event to create a cinematic short film of your day.
All of our packages include a short film shot on real film, as well as a collection of still images taken from the video.

Okay, but what’s the catch?

Super 8 is a form of videography. It can’t capture sound, each cartridge of film only holds between 2.5 - 3 minutes of footage, and it can be temperamental since, for the most part, these cameras tend to be older. That said, I believe all of that is precisely what makes Super 8 so special. There is nothing quite like it, and there is something nostalgic and romantic about capturing something on film
As long as you know that going in, there is no catch. It’s just entirely up to what kind of style you like best. For weddings, some couples are looking for a comprehensive, documentary-style video, while others just want a highlight reel.
What we do is record your event on real, tangible Super 8 film and use the results to create a beautiful, unique short film tailored to you. We don’t use AI or slap on a preset Instagram filter, just the authentic experience captured on film.

Thanks for asking! Super 8 is a form of 8mm motion picture film that comes in a cartridge you can load directly into a Super 8 camera. Each cartridge can hold about 2.5 - 3 minutes of footage. Once it’s exposed, it get developed and scanned into a computer. The end result is footage that feels like an old-school movie.
Super 8 is grainy, imperfect, nostalgic, and above all else romantic. It’s a tangible reminder of your wedding or event, made with love and care from one human to another.
In the era of AI, the human element of shooting a cartridge of Super 8 film, chemically developing the negative, scanning it in, and then meticulously cutting together a final video is a genuine labor of love from us to you.
Nope! However, in the past, we’ve recorded speeches and vows on separate mics and added them into the video. If you want the look and feel of Super 8, but also want to make sure you can still hear some of the highlights, we can absolutely make that happen.
There was a brief moment when Super 8 XL cameras could also record sound. But it fell out of fashion pretty quickly, and they don’t make or develop the film anymore. The cameras still work, though! When I showed this page to my wife, she told me no one would read this paragraph about the background on XL cameras. But if you did, I hope you learned something!
